The next few chapters were solely based around one woman named Susan Calvin.
Susan is a robot therapist, so she deals with trying to make the robots have more human like quality's. after the introductions in chapter 5 we found out that there is actually a robot who can read human minds. The robot that can read minds has a flaw though, in the begging of the book we learn the rules of robotics,
Later on in chapter 6 Susan is faced with having to find a robot named "Nestor 10" that had escaped (Nestor 10 doesn't have the ability of the first rule, which is to obey masters) and hidden himself in a line of other robots, problem is he cant be differentiated from the other robots. After some careful thinking Susan came up with a clever idea to have the robot touch some wire cables that would kill them when touched, this would work because Nestor 10 has his 3rd law at his highest priority because he has no 1st law. once the robot electrocutes itself there would be a relay, when pressed would stop the current, but Nestor 10 would not know this, so Nestor 10's only option is to refuse to touch the panel which would show us who Nestor 10 was.

- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
- A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
